Email Spam Tester vs Unspam.email
Unspam.email and Email Spam Tester are the closest of the five: both score the message and both show the folder. The differences are in the allowance, the API and what each one adds around the test.
Pick Email Spam Tester if
- three spam tests and two placement tests a month are not enough, and you do not want to count
- you want the API or an MCP server without a paid plan
- your team reads reports in a language other than English, Spanish, German or French
- you want to see the reasons behind most checks, with the RFC or the receiver's own page quoted
Pick Unspam.email if
- you want previews of the email in 50+ mail clients and heatmaps
- you need scheduled tests that email you when placement slips
- you want DMARC report monitoring in the same account
Run both tests on the same email
The fairest comparison is your own message. Get an address, send the email you were going to test anyway, and put the two reports next to each other.

How the placement test is run
On Unspam.email the spam test and the placement test are two products with their own allowances: you get an address for the score, and a list of seed inboxes plus a code for the placement. Each run of either counts against the month.
The placement test here is a box you tick before you copy the address. The report shows the 42 checks and, below them, the folder at each provider, all from the one email you sent. There is no monthly allowance to count.
Allowances
Without an account Unspam.email gives three spam tests and two placement tests a month and keeps the results for 24 hours. A free account raises that to 21 tests a month kept for 14 days. More, and the API, MCP server and DMARC monitoring, are on its paid plan, priced per test from a $5 monthly minimum.
Email Spam Tester has no account to make. The first 100,000 reports are free for everyone with no per-person cap, and after that five tests per IP address per day stay free. The API and the MCP server are the same free service.
What Unspam.email does that this does not
It renders your email in more than 50 mail clients and devices, light and dark, and draws heatmaps. It runs tests on a schedule and emails you when results get worse. It monitors DMARC reports. None of that exists here; this tool checks one message at a time.
Where the AI part sends your email
Both services use a language model to write the fix plan. Unspam.email's privacy policy says OpenAI generates those reports and may keep the content for up to 30 days. Here the model receives a fact sheet built from the checks: measurements and finding texts with sender addresses redacted, never the body, the raw headers or the subject line.
What people who tried it said
I took a closer look at it, and it convinced me. […] Every warning names the RFC section behind it. You don't have to believe the tool, you can check it.
Translated from GermanIch habe ihn mir genauer angesehen, und er hat mich überzeugt. […] Jede Warnung nennt die zugrunde liegende RFC-Stelle. Man muss dem Tool nicht glauben, man kann es nachprüfen.
If you send emails and you don't know where they land, it's a simple first check. And it costs nothing.
I just tried your tool and I really like it - good job!
Questions
Is Unspam.email free?
Partly. Without an account it gives three spam tests and two inbox placement tests a month; a free account gives 21 tests a month. Beyond that it charges per test on its Custom plan, with a $5 monthly minimum.
Which one checks more providers for placement?
Unspam.email lists ten seed inboxes at seven providers, including business tenants of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Zoho. Email Spam Tester covers Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and other providers. Look at the list shown before you send.
Can I use the API without paying?
On Email Spam Tester, yes: the REST API and the MCP server need no key for a basic test. On Unspam.email the API and MCP access are on paid plans.
Does Email Spam Tester have email previews?
No. It shows the message as received, as text, HTML and source, but it does not render it in different mail clients. Unspam.email does, for 50+ clients and devices.
